Drive the Cold Winter Away
when old jack frost has threatened his worst
and fallen from branch to briar
then welcome the nights that double delights
in the light of a good going fire
good fortune attend each merry man's friend
that does but as best as he may
to banish old wrong with a cup and a song
and drive the cold winter away

to mask and to mum your neighbours are come
with wassails of nut brown ale
to drink and carouse and may all in this house
be as merry as buck in the dale
it's good bread and cheese we ask for our fees
to make us the longer to stay
to banish old wrong with a cup and a song
and drive the cold winter away

Pastime With Good Company
pastime with good company
i love and shall untill i die
grudge who will let none deny
so god be pleased this life will i
for my pastance* hunt sing and dance
my heart is set
all goodly sport for my comfort
who shall me let

youth will needs have dalliance
of good or ill some pastance
company my thinketh best
all thoughts and fancies to digest
for idleness is chief mistress
of vices all
then who can say but pass the day
is best of all

company with honesty is virtue
and vice to flee
company is good or ill
but every man has his free will
the best i sue the worst eschew
my mind shall be
virtue to use vice to refuse
i shall use me

Green Groweth the Holly
green groweth the holly
so doth the ivy
though winter winds blow ne'er so high
green groeth the holly

Great Tom's Cast
great tom's cast
and christ church bells sing 1 2 3 4 5 6
and tom comes last

Blow Blow Thou Winters Wynd
blow blow thou winters wynd
thou art not so unkind
as man's ingratitude as man's ingratitude
thy tooth is not so keen
because thou art not seen
although thy breath be rude
although thy breath be rude

freeze freeze thou bitter sky
thoudoes not bite so high
as benefits forgot as benefit forgot
though thou the waters werp
thy tooth is not so sharp
as friends remembered not
as friends remembered not

Hunting the Wren
where are you going
says mildor to moldor
where are you going
says jack in the can
where are you going
says bob the red nose
where are you going
says everyone
hunting the wren
with bows and with arrows
how will you cook him
baked boild and roasted
we'll come to the dinner
